Call of Duty 2 Version 1.3 to 1.01 Downgrade.
This zip file includes the CoD2MP_s.exe. It is included in the 1.01 Intel dual core patch.
----- STEP 1: Locate your Call of Duty 2 installation folder -----
Start Menu - My computer - Local Disk
For 32 bit windows - C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 2
For 64 bit windows - C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty 2
(Depending on your type of Windows install it will be in one of the locations above unless you installed it on another drive which then the drive letter maybe different.)
----- STEP 2: Place the executable file below in your Call of duty 2 installation directory -----
CoD2MP_s101.exe (included in this zip file)
----- STEP 3: Making a shorcut -----
2. Once you drop the file in there, select the file, right click on the exe. A popup window will come up and you can either click "create shortcut" which will make a shortcut inside the current directory which you can then drag where you like. Or simply click on "send to" which will expand so you can click on "Desktop (create shortcut)" which will do exactly that and send a shorcut to the desktop.
----- STEP 4: ENJOY! -----
After you make the shortcut you will have access to Call of duty 1.01 with a simple double click.
(Remember to still use your original shortcut you normally use to access 1.3)
----- Why this works -----
The executable determines the files it needs and since 1.3 incorporates more files than 1.0 needs it doesn't even notice those extra files hence allowing you to play just fine. This also makes it more organized so now you can use the same profile along with mods and screenshots saving in the same directory. There are only a few files which are actually replaced in the 1.3 patch that 1.0 depends on. Those are the updated directx dll files which have no negative affect that I have notice on gameplay. If anything it possibly helps with fps, but I cannot confirm this.
